On Hong Kong
I've always been very interested in the region. Hong Kong is an important city for fashion and retail. I grew up in Penang and I remember my father would go on trips to Hong Kong, although I never went with him. It always seemed like a mythical place with all these iconic landmarks and images like the junk boat and the star ferry. It's a city with purpose and I love that.

On Designing for HK Women
I would never design anything specifically for Hong Kong women - they are far too fashion savvy and switched on. I think all the women around the world react the same way to my designs anyway.
On Skyrocketing Shoe Prices
During the recession, it didn't seem like very high end quality brands like Hermes were that affected. If you're providing good quality and unique shoes, then I can understand the pricing. Shoemaking is an expensive industry.

All our shoes are made by hand at a factory in Bologna, Italy. We buy all our materials in Euros and it can quite pricey but if the quality is there and our clients don't mind paying for that.
On Style
There is a purity with all my designs. Everything is purposefully pared down. If you put things in architectural terms, its on the minamlist end. I struggle to add things. I think its more about what my designs doesn't say as opposed to what it does.
