This year marks Piaget Polo's 30th birthday and to celebrate, the luxury house is breathing new life into the legendary collection. Renewing the essence of the Piaget Polo line with a sporty spirit and contemporary twist, this month Piaget is unveiling four new titanium creations entitled the Piaget Polo FortyFive.
First seen at SIHH earlier this year, this is undoubtedly the sportiest watch that Piaget has designed, but in keeping with the house aesthetics, it remains stunning in its simplicity. All four models are made of titanium - a first for the brand - and are equipped with the manufacture's own 800P and 880P movements.
But in addition to its technical quality, much emphasis has been given on comfort. This is also the first watch by Piaget that features a rubber strap. The case is watertight to 100 metres and has been given a new curve to ensure a good fit to the wrist.
The Piaget Polo FortyFive Chronograph features the 880P calibre which displays the hour and minute functions, along with small seconds at 6 o'clock, the date at 12 o'clock, a second 24-hour time zone at 9 o'clock and a flyback chronograph at 3 o'clock. The 5.6mm thick self-winding mechanical movement has two barrels and boasts a 50-hour power reserve.
The Piaget Polo FortyFive Automatic features the other movement, the self-winding 800P, which displays hours, minutes and seconds in the centre and the date at 6 o'clock. Its two barrels ensure a 72-hour power reserve.
