The Opus Hong Kong by Frank Gehry

A spectacular new luxury residence on Stubbs Road
The Opus Hong Kong is a collaboration between Frank Gehry, one of the world’s most influential architects, and innovative Hong Kong developer, Swire Properties.

Wow, magnificent and O-M-G cannot begin to describe Swire Properties’ latest residential building, the Opus Hong Kong. That’s no surprise, with legendary Frank Gehry as its designer (the architect behind the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Disney Village in Paris and the Olympic Fish in Barcelona).

The man’s an artist and the Opus, his Asian masterpiece. The 12-storey building is located on 53 Stubbs Road on The Peak and is Gehry’s first residential creation in Asia.

It's hard not to be awed by the stunning facade of The Opus Hong Kong.

Overlooking The Peak, Opus emulates a building swaying with the wind, which matches perfectly with the surrounding greenery. It almost looks one with nature – exactly what Gehry was going for. Opus is the only structure you’ll see amidst all that open space.

The Opus Hong Kong stands out clearly from the mountainside.

Speaking of space, did we mention the building’s apartments are over 6,000 square feet (557 square metres) each? That’s one home per floor, two of which are duplexes with private gardens. Truly unconventional for spatially-challenged Hong Kong.

All residences at The Opus Hong Kong boast a spectacular and unique view.

It gets better with a killer view that’s easily visible from all angles, since the residence is mostly floor-to-ceiling windows. The building’s unique twists and angles gives each home a slightly different panoramic view, too.

The Opus Hong Kong twists and turns upwards to the sky.

The question on everyone’s mind is how much, and while we’re not able to share that just yet, one thing’s for sure: it’s more than just a million dollar view.
