Hailed as the most exciting fashion and beauty photographers of her generation, Beijing-born Chen Man is the star behind MAC's latest collaboration called "Love + Water." Although the ethereal collection doesn't hit stores until 1 March 2012, the world is already buzzing with anticipation.
Chen first broke into the fashion and beauty scene at the age of 23 with a series of covers she shot for "Vision," a Shanghai-based fashion magazine. Noticed for their artsy, energetic and fantastical style, Chen's images have since catapulted her to the forefront of photography, where she takes each image with painstaking perfection.
The Chen Man for MAC "Love + Water" collection is therefore just as radical, hyper-beautiful, and unique, using a palette of pinks and blues to represent love and water. We especially love the ying/yang imprints on the mineralise eye shadows, which Chen says represent our male and female energies and the opposing forces in our lives.
"The concept 'Love + Water' stems from my own personal experiences and my vision was to represent this through colour," said Chen. "Mixing pink and blue creates purple, a colour in China that is associated with mystery and uncertainty … and of course, life itself is filled with uncertainty."
The collection includes a mix of limited edition beauty powder, mineralise eye shadow duos, reflects glitter, pigment, fluidline eyeliner, lipsticks, lipglass, gloss, a brow brush and two nail lacquers.
The Chen Man for MAC collection launches on 1 March 2012 and will be available at all MAC locations in Hong Kong.
