Fenty Beauty by Rihanna

It’s just a couple of days until the big reveal of Rihanna’s long-awaited makeup venture, Fenty Beauty, which has had all of @Badgalriri’s fans eagerly anticipating this moment since early 2016, when she signed a deal with the Kendo division of LVMH. From the few wild teasers we’ve been given, expect the collection to be an ode to sultry natural colours, plenty of glowy glamour, ’90s-throwback aesthetics (frosty eyeshadow anyone?), as well as a celebration of diversity. A staggering 40 shades of foundation have been confirmed, with plenty of options for those with darker skin tones that are usually ignored by big beauty brands. You’ll also find highlighters, gorgeous shimmering shadows and lip colours in all sorts of big, bad, beautiful names like Trophy Wife, Yacht Life, Ginger Binge and Moscow Mule. It’s all cruelty-free, too! Fenty Beauty launches online at 3pm Hong Kong time this Friday, so make sure you’re near a computer then to be amongst the first to buy it.

Available at Sephora and Harvey Nichols, online only, from 8 September, 3pm HKT

M.A.C. Girls Eyeshadow Palettes

Your makeup tells the story of the personality you portray, and the new M.A.C. Girls eyeshadow palettes launching on 27 September are the perfect way for you to experiment with alter egos. While the Instagram-hyped “Basic Bitch” palette (featuring mainly greys, taupes and browns) won’t be arriving in Hong Kong, you’ll be able to cop the rest of the range. So which one are you? A “Rockin’ Rebel,” with mermaid blue hues, “Fashion Fanatic” with flashy pinks and purples, “Power Hungry” with commanding gold metallics, “Mischief Minx” with its wild coppers and earthy tones, or a “Prissy Princess” with feminine pinks and tans? Whatever you are, you won’t be basic, that’s for sure.

Available 27 September, HK$445 each from M.A.C. Cosmetics

M.A.C. x Nikki Minaj

Another icon in the spotlight this week is Nicki Minaj, who’s launching two signature shades for M.A.C. in her second collaboration with the cosmetics brand. Dressed in metallic pink and signed, the two lipsticks feature a creamy coral-pink brandished “Nicki’s Nude” and a midtone bubblegum-pink “The Pinkprint,” after the rapper’s 2014 album name, naturally. If you’re a lover of nude shades you’re also in for a treat, as M.A.C. will be launching 24 additional shades of lipglass glosses and lipsticks at the same time.

Hollywood queen Taraji P. Henson debuted her first philantrophic Viva Glam collab with M.A.C. earlier this year with a matte lipstick and lipglass in a gorgeous warm fuchsia, and is coming back with a redux. Suited for all your autumnal nights out and daytime adventures alike, you can choose from a Frost finish lipstick or a shiny lipglass, both in a bronzey copper with gold flecks. As usual, every cent from Viva Glam sales will go towards helping those suffering from HIV/AIDS thanks to the M.A.C. AIDS Fund.

Victoria Beckham x Estée Lauder

The former Posh Spice returns to do her second capsule collection for Estée Lauder this autumn, inspired by the world’s greatest cities — New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris (Hong Kong is sadly missing) — with 28 products all wrapped up in gold, so they’re perfect for the holiday season. Aside from dark smokey eyes, there’s a pronounced focus on highlights, with an all-new Aura Gloss pot, Illuminating Creme and shimmering pressed powder, but also the eye foils — high-octane shimmering eyelid lacquers (in charcoal and gold) in a convenient pot design. Ultimate fans of VB can look out for the Victoria Beckham Lit Beauty Box: Noir (HK$11,700), which features a light-up vanity box and eight handpicked items from the new collection.

Dior Rouge

Don an “it” girl smile as radiant as the likes of Natalie Portman and Jennifer Lawrence with Dior’s first liquid formula, available in vibrant matte, satin and metallic finishes. For an authoritative pout, the liquid matte in Dior’s classic red, shade 999, can’t be beat, working equally well for the boardroom or a rock concert. With 20 shades in total, highlights also include the intense matte black and oxblood, as well as a whimsical holographic top coat. If you’re looking for a more voluptuous pucker, also launched this month is the new Double Rouge Lipstick, which is Dior’s take on the ombré lip contouring trend du jour: a ring of vibrant matte colour surrounding a metallic core helps you create the dramatic, chiaroscuro effect that makes lips look more plump.
